Everyday an Adventure

Lance and I have such fun adventures! Now going out to dinner with another couple may not seem like an adventure to you, but it is to us! We went on a double date this week to Babos Italian Eatery with our friends Amber and Darren. It was a new place and I love the alfredo that I ordered. The company was fantastic as well! We also had a pool party with my family and that left us satisfied and sunburnt. :)

This week I also finished building my photography website which can be found at and I spiced up this $1 B and $1 frame to make our bathroom look awesome! What adventures await next?! :)

Welcome To Alma Ward

Two Sundays ago we went to church and I got this funny feeling that Brother Slade was going to give us a talk. So I told Lance to give our tithing to another counselor and we slipped away into Sunday School. We had a great lesson about Christ and I was carefree and intently listening until after the closing prayer when I saw Brother Slade with his head through the door gesturing for us to come meet with him... He caught us. :) Not that I mind, but I knew it was going to happen. So last Sunday Lance and I gave our first church talks as husband and wife. We got to introduce ourselves to our new ward as well- Alma Ward in Mesa. My talk was about testimony and Lance's talk was about the atonement. Just to leave you with a piece of what we shared here is a quote from Lance talk:

Bruce R. McConkie stated in his last testimony:

"And now, as pertaining to this perfect atonement, wrought by the shedding of the blood of God—I testify that it took place in Gethsemane and at Golgotha, and as pertaining to Jesus Christ, I testify that he is the Son of the Living God and was crucified for the sins of the world. He is our Lord, our God, and our King. This I know of myself independent of any other person.
I am one of his witnesses, and in a coming day I shall feel the nail marks in his hands and in his feet and shall wet his feet with my tears. But I shall not know any better then than I know now that he is God’s Almighty Son, that he is our Savior and Redeemer, and that salvation comes in and through his atoning blood and in no other way."

We testify that that is true. Our Savior lives and He loves us. He atoned for our sins that we might return to live with him again. He lives.

Bearded Children

So as some of you know, Lance and I have turtles. Rocky and Phantom are our two big boys and we have a baby girl named Little Bug. We took these pictures the other day and couldn't stop laughing because Rocky started shedding his neck skin and it looked like a beard! :)

You can see it here!

They are so hilarious!

And of course, here is one of Little Bug who is a little larger than a quarter. :)

Johnson Family Surprise Reunion/Shenanigans

For Grandma Johnson's birthday this year my aunts in Minnesota and in Washington came all the way to AZ with their families to surprise her with the ENTIRE family being there! So she and my grandpa came over to my Aunt Kendelle's house for a dinner and BAM!!! 19 grandkids pop our from around the corner! It was awesome! She was in shock! Anyway we all spent the next several days having dinners together and hanging out while everyone was there. Shenanigans ensued. Linda was on fly duty.
It was a really fun time and we finished it all off by all going to Culver's for icecream! Yum!
There were so many of us that we couldn't all fit in one picture so we had multiples. :)

We are such an awesome family! And all the family who hadn't yet gotten to meet Lance was able to do so. They loved him! Sam especially was hanging out with us the whole time :)

The goodbyes were sad, but happy! Love you guys!

Temple Night Again

Going to the temple is such an amazing privilege! I am so happy that we get to go there together and be enlightened and feel the Spirit. In January 2010 I set a goal to go to the temple once a week. That goal has remained in tact and since then, it is easy to see how dramatically my life has changed and how much I have been blessed. The temple truly is a place that brings us as close as can be to our Lord. I am always excited each week for Temple night!

Oh and temple night is always followed up by a stop by Bahama Bucks for a baby strawberry daquiri shaved ice with cream and extra umbrellas! Woot woot!

Yes, I am Married to This Hunk

The Face and Grandpa's Swimming Pool

First I will simply preface the following picture by telling you it is Lance's "I'm angry and I am going to scrunch up my face like a little boy" face. I am rather in love with this face and I must admit that I do try to provoke it quite often.

On to the swimming pool, which my grandparents have, which is awesome! We went swimming there last week and it was a blast! Jonas and Mathea came (two of my siblings) and spiced it up a bit...

And oh how awesome is our waterproof camera? :) Smooching is so fun!

Happy Two Month Anniversary!

I am still pretty in love with the whole "we get to have an anniversary every month because we are newlyweds" thing. :) For our two month anniversary, we exchanged cards, but when I came home from work, this is what I found- Robot styrofoam man with sunflowers and a present just for me!
See we had just finally purchased a table and Lance had put it together and used the styrofoam from the box to spice up the presentation of my AMAZING gift! What was the gift?
Well it was none other than a brand new Tangled Rapunzel Barbie doll! I kept telling him I felt like a little kid when I saw it and I wanted it ha ha! She now sits perfectly on our TV and compliments all good movies that we watch!

California Reception

So these pictures are a little late, but settling back in after all of our adventures has been quite the task and we are still trying to get settled before I start school again. Here are a few highlight pictures from our reception in Oakland with all of Lance's family. It was certainly fun and the dancing was divine! The Baxter family are all about gettin it on the dance floor and so it was a blast to all of them there! Our friend, Jon, took some pictures of us in San Fran at the Palace of Fine Arts...

Oh yeah! Mary Poppins style!
And of course we had to have the mismatching sock picture...
And he also snapped some pictures of us at the Oakland temple, which is beautiful! We were the first of all of Lance's eight siblings not to get sealed there, so we took some pictures instead. :)
Pinky promise... forever!
Here is the whole clan just before the reception! Woo hoo!

Overall we had a blast and I was happy I got to wear the dress again! For all the pictures, you can click the link below:

Attack of the DUST WALL!

So last week Lance and I were home one evening just minding our own business and watching "Meet the Robinsons" when we heard a noise that sounded like screaming. We got up and looked out the sliding glass door and realized that it was the wind! There was so much dust that it looked like it was pouring and we could barely make out the poor trees that were being pulled at so terribly. This is what happened... A DUST WALL! It engulfed the whole city! Kinda reminds me of that scene from the movie Hidalgo. The next day was of course one of the biggest car wash days in Phoenix history. People were lined up for half an hour before car washes even opened! What a crazy storm!

The Black Flag SUPER SWATTER!!!

Sorry about the gap in time between my last post and now. I am still getting used to married life. :) So the other week Lance and I knew it was time to get a fly swatter. We went to Walmart and searched high and low. There was only one in the whole store... it was any person's dream swatter- The Black Flag SUPER SWATTER! I reverted to reading all the lines in ninja-like voice and had Lance laughing really hard! Try it! Read the lines on this swatter and do it in a serious/intense voice! Flies don't stand a chance!

The Baxters Go To Sweden!

Here is a slideshow of all of our trip pictures, but if you don't have 15 minutes to watch it, at least watch the first 3 minutes. You won't regret it. :) You will want to pause the blog music at the bottom of the page first. Enjoy! We sure did!
