What to Pack in Your Disneyland Survival Kit

While I was preparing for our Disneyland trip this week,
I put together some Disneyland Survival Kits
for my husband and I
and for my BFFs who are going with us.

I put quite a bit of thought into them
and then realized that I should share them,
so that packing and prepping might be a little easier
on others out there trying to get ready for the fun!

So here you have it:

In the ones for my friends,
I included these amazing mister fans to keep us cool
since the temperatures are going to be in the 80s.
You can get them at Target, Walmart, or Amazon.
Super convenient and don't forget to pack batteries.

I included their favorite snacks
so that if we get stuck in a really long line,
we will have an emergency stash.
Snacks with pieces that you can eat
more slowly and enjoy over longer periods of time
are ideal.
These included Lays potato chips,
Oreos Minis,
Chips Ahoy Minis,
Reese's Pieces,
Jolly Rancher Gummies,
and Dr. Pepper.
I got all of them from $1 bins
or in packs of more where I got them or less than $.25 each.

You can bet that the rest of the time
we will be stuffing our faces with park food...
I mean it doesn't get any tastier than Dole Whips,
Caramel apples with Mickey ears,
and any other Mickey shaped food!

I also bought several packs of glow sticks
and glow necklaces at the $1 section of Target!
It's so fun to join in the glowing fun once the park gets dark,
but I'd rather spend trip money on food and souvenirs
than glow sticks,
so stock up for cheap beforehand!

For my husband,
I packed Swedish Fish (again from a $1 bin)
and Nutter Butters.
I also packed him an awesome Mickey shirt
which I got from UNIQLO
They have some wonderful Disney designs
for adults and kids!

In my kit, I packed a smaller handheld O2 Cool mister fan
that I picked up from Walmart
so that I could easily spray back and forth between myself
and my little lady.

I also got some red sneakers from Target
so that I'd have comfortable walking shoes
that are also stylish to match all of my Disney outfits!
Make sure to walk in them for a few days before your trip
to break them in beforehand.

So to sum up, you want to include:

- Mister Fans w/ batteries
- Stylish Sneakers
- Snacks that can be eaten a little at a time
- Glow Sticks and Glow Necklaces
- A Drink of Choice
- Disney Shirts

To make them look cute,
just put the items in a neutral colored gift bag
and cut out a Mickey shape from black paper to tape on.

Enjoy your Disney trip
and check back to see more about our Disney fashion choices for our trip!
Thanks for stopping by!

What is a Temple?

There is one place that calms my heart like no other
and that would be the temple.
If you are sitting there reading this like,
"What the hey is a temple?"
then let me explain.

A temple is a beautiful House of the Lord.
It is built with great care and precision
and then dedicated to the Lord.

Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints
who are living in accordance with the commandments of God
may go to the temple to
feel peace,
pray for guidance in life decisions,
learn about the creation of the Earth,
be sealed to a spouse and/or children for time and all eternity,
make covenants with Heavenly Father to live worthy to return and live with Him,
or do baptisms in the names of ancestors who have passed away
so that they may still have the opportunity to accept that physical ordinance
and learn about the gospel.

When I go to the temple,
I am overwhelmed with a feeling of peace
and I can't really put it into words.
It feels as though Heavenly Father is there waiting with open arms
to calm my troubled soul from the worries of the world,
and strengthen me for joys and trials to come.

I am so grateful for the temple,
especially since the new Phoenix, Arizona temple was recently dedicated
so close to where I live!

Enjoy a free unwatermarked, high resolution download of the photo below
of the Phoenix, Arizona temple
and feel free to use it as a gorgeous screensaver
or order a large print or canvas of it for your home
to remind you of the peace and eternal happiness that comes from temples.

Enjoy!

The Stuff of Dreams

There are moments in my life where time seems to slow down
and my eyelashes take an eternity to meet.
I don't want them to end because in them I see my life as if from afar.
I see ups and downs so clearly
and yet I know that they cannot stops me from reaching joy.
I see my faults and I see my strengths through new eyes
and I realize that I am perhaps better than I think.
I am not perfect,
but I don't need to be perfect to be loved.
It is in these moments where light pours out of me
like sunshine through a cracked window.
The cracks are there,
but the light still shines through them.
My arms can't reach wide enough apart to show how much I am feeling.
It is in these moments that I see my heart comes
spiraling from my chest like a great pools of illuminated water
reaching out to touch those I hold most dear.
Life can cloud my focus
and fill my mind with worries,
but these moments are a gift
to remind me of what my name truly is.
I am not stress,
or work to be done.
I am not pain,
or sorrows to dwell upon.
I am love.
Love to pour into the souls around me.
Love to shine into every crevice of the hearts of those in my way.
Love to pierce the darkest of moments
and love to fill this world with goodness.
I am imperfect and flawed
but in these fleeting moments,
I see perfection in the selfless love that has built the foundation of my life
and been given to me
and given by me.
In these moments I breathe in and hold my breath as long as I can,
so that when the moments end,
I will remember the taste of them,
Sweet and filling.
A voice whispers to me in these moments,
"Write again."
So I write to remind myself that
Moments like this make life worth living.
They are the stuff of dreams.

- Siri

Thanks for being so many of my moments, Sampson.
